An ESPN director has died at the age of 42 after suffering a ‘medical emergency’ at an NCAA regional tournament in North Carolina on Saturday, the network has announced.

Kyle Brown worked for the broadcasting giants for 16 years, and ESPN revealed the news in a statement, which read: ‘Kyle was a deeply admired member of our production team.’

It continued that he was also ‘highly accomplished, having captured two Sports Emmy Awards while working a multitude of sports from baseball and basketball to Monday Night Football and college football.’
