He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of more than 48 years. Reggie was born in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1941, and he spent a significant portion of his youth on the 130-acre farm that belonged to his grandparents. When he was still in his teens, he started working as a plumber, and by the time he was in his early 20s, he was managing huge groups of workers installing plumbing for commercial building. He began his career as an apprentice. After being married to Judy in 1975, he and his wife settled down in Manassas, Virginia, where he had previously launched his own plumbing firm in Fairfax, Virginia. After earning his Master Plumber accreditation, Reggie began to expand his plumbing firm in the suburbs of Washington, DC so that it would cover every conceivable facet of the specialization.

In 1988, they decided to make the move from their busy lives in Northern Virginia to their new home in Beaufort. It was at this time that Lohr Plumbing was reestablished, and ever since then, it has become an indispensable part of the community. In due time, the man’s son Brett joined him in the family company. They were coworkers for a number of years, up to the time that Reggie decided to retire; nonetheless, Brett is still the owner of the business today. Those who knew Reggie well will have a lasting impression of his strong work ethic and his enthusiasm for taking on any task relating to his profession. He took great delight in “outworking” those of a more recent generation.

In addition, racing Corvettes and riding motorbikes were two of Reggie’s favorite hobbies. He continued to cruise around town on his Harley V-rod well into his late 70s.
